Fellowship

The Institute For Sports and Reconstructive Bone & Joint Surgery provides
high quality theoretical and practical training in shoulder surgery.

The ICR – Groupe Kantys is a private practice that offers fellowships in Shoulder and Knee Surgery under the supervision of Professor Pascal Boileau (Shoulder) and Professor Christophe Trojani (Knee). These fellowships, ranging from 3 to 12 months, provide comprehensive training in both shoulder and knee pathologies and procedures.

By the end of the fellowship, the fellow should have gained knowledge, increased competency and improved performance in the following:

  • understanding of shoulder / knee anatomy and biomechanics
  • assessment and management of upper / lower extremity pathologies
  • distinguish between pathological and normal variations
  • obtain medical history
  • develops patient care plans
  • determines appropriate diagnostic tests
  • understand disease processes that benefit from surgical management and the various surgical techniques
  • interpret imaging tests
  • demonstrates interpersonal skills required for patient care
  • competency in repair of soft and bony tissues
  • proper arthroscopic assessment of shoulder / knee pathology
  • grasping current literature
  • completed clinical research project & submits to peer-reviewed journal 

Shoulder fellowship

The fellow will be introduced to a broad range of shoulder pathologies (arthritis, rotator cuff tears, instability, fractures, etc.), and procedures (both primary and revision surgical procedures, including shoulder arthroplasty, arthroscopy, open reconstruction, fracture management).

 

Clinical responsibilities will include clinics and operating room coverage.  

A typical weekly schedule includes three half days in the OR, three half days in clinics, and one day dedicated for research.

Knee fellowship

The fellow will be exposed to a wide array of knee conditions, including arthritis, ligament injuries, meniscal tears, and fractures. Training will encompass various surgical techniques, both primary and revision procedures, such as knee arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and ligament reconstruction.

 

Clinical responsibilities will include clinics and operating room coverage.  

A typical weekly schedule includes 2 days in the OR, 2 half days in clinics, and one day dedicated for research.
